Opright Payments & Stripe Connect Terms

Responsibilities for manual recorded methods, connected Stripe accounts, customer charges, refunds, disputes, payouts, and verification.

Last updated Content version 2026-09-13.8acb5eebEffective September 1, 2026

These terms apply when a business saves manual payment instructions, connects Stripe, creates an online invoice payment, or manages payment activity through Opright. Customer-payment tools are separate from Opright subscription billing.

1. Roles

The connected field-service business is the seller and service provider to its customer and the merchant responsible for the charge. Opright supplies software and payment-related interfaces. Stripe supplies payment processing and connected-account services under Stripe’s own agreements.

2. Stripe agreement and adult administrator

An authorized adult payment administrator must provide accurate business and identity information, control the connected Stripe account, and expressly accept the applicable Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe may require verification or restrict capabilities. Opright cannot waive Stripe requirements or activate an ineligible account.

3. Manual payment instructions and records

Manual methods—including cash, check, supported wallet instructions, Card (recorded manually), Bank transfer (recorded manually), and other outside methods—are customer-facing instructions and bookkeeping records only. Opright does not move, verify, hold, reverse, or refund money for these methods and does not mark an invoice paid automatically. Optional payment links must use HTTPS and may appear on an invoice page, PDF, or customer portal. The business is responsible for validating the destination, protecting its outside accounts, confirming receipt independently, and recording payment status only after confirmation.

4. Stripe charges and fees

Customer invoice charges are created on the connected business’s Stripe account. Stripe determines which activated payment methods are available for each hosted payment. Stripe processing fees and any fees shown by Stripe apply to that business. Opright currently does not add a transaction fee to customer invoice payments. Opright may introduce a platform fee only after clear advance disclosure and any required consent.

5. Invoices, refunds, and disputes

The business is responsible for accurate invoices, lawful services, customer authorization, receipts, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, negative balances, and customer support. Refunds for Stripe-collected payments are returned to the original payment method through Stripe when available; an outside manual payment must be adjusted through that outside method. Stripe processing fees may not be returned. Opright records processor-confirmed Stripe events and owner-recorded manual status but does not decide whether the underlying field service was satisfactory.

6. Payouts and balances

Stripe controls payout timing, availability, reserves, holds, and bank-account requirements. Displayed Opright totals are operational summaries and are not bank statements. Use the Stripe Dashboard as the authoritative source for Stripe balances, payouts, disputes, and tax forms, and use the relevant outside provider for any manual method.

7. Prohibited activity

Businesses may not use Opright payments for prohibited or restricted activity, sham transactions, personal cash transfers, money laundering, sanctions evasion, fraudulent charges, or services unlawful where offered. Stripe’s restricted-business rules also apply.

8. Taxes and records

The business is responsible for determining and collecting taxes on its services and keeping required records. Opright can apply a business-confirmed manual rate or use Stripe Tax to calculate sales tax for new invoices and estimates from the service address, confirmed service categories and the business’s active registrations. Automatic collection requires an authorized business confirmation. Stripe Tax usage charges may apply. Invoice totals include the itemized tax for every payment method. The business must verify jurisdictions, taxable services, exemptions, and rates; a saved rate does not register the business, file returns, or remit tax. Issued and paid invoices retain their original totals. Automatic-tax payment and refund reporting includes retry and review states. Provider limitations, expired calculations or ambiguous results may require reconciliation in Stripe. Tax reports are operational records to reconcile with a qualified tax professional.

9. Suspension

Opright or Stripe may pause payment features when verification is incomplete, fraud or security risk is suspected, a negative balance exists, law requires action, or these terms are breached. Other Opright functions may remain available where safe and lawful.

10. Customer notice

A customer paying an invoice should direct service, cancellation, or refund questions to the business named on the invoice. Opright can help with platform access or security at support@mail.oprightapp.com.
